Description

Description

To counteract campaigns of disinformation there is a need to improve the content, accessibility, and delivery of scientific communications and seed them across popular cultural platforms in accessible formats. By bringing scientists together with producers of arts, entertainment and new media to explore innovative and accessible ways to express science, we will improve the impact of scientific research on policy makers and the public. The SILBERSALZ Institute is a project development programme to design, develop and prototype content through sessions, mentoring, workshops and pitches. The programme empowers teams with tools and methodologies to bring scientific research into the public domain via audio visual and interactive cultural platforms. Skills and models developed on the programme will be transferable to other creative sectors and the structure forges collaboration and knowledge transfer between teams and countries. The projects developed on the programme will explore innovative business models, audience engagement and teach participants about the potential of new platforms. Alongside this is a public programme of online Masterclasses aimed at content creators or anyone interested in exploring AV and interactive culture creation. Masterclasses are available for free taking viewers through the process of developing content through market analysis, funding and launch. This is designed to introduce the fundamentals of content creation and inspire viewers in the potential of effective science communication. Marketing will be across countries and languages with diversity at the core of projects selected for the programme. Approximately 50 people will take part per year split into 18 groups and we will produce 25 Masterclass videos. The project is led by Documentary Campus who have many years experience in supporting project development and the consortium is completed by Robert Bosch Stiftung, Pariscience and MC2: Grenoble.
