Description
Description | The SILENT GOAL – Inclusive Football for Deaf Youth project is directly aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Sport Programme, particularly in the areas of social inclusion, equal access to sport, and capacity building for grassroots sports professionals. The project responds to the call’s focus on promoting inclusion and diversity in sport, enhancing skills development in grassroots sports organisations, and fostering sustainable community-based sports initiatives. The general objectives of the project are revolving around raising the inclusion of deaf and hard of hearing youngsters in footballing activities, while, at the same time, proving to the youngsters they are welcome in being a part of organised team sports. The project’s activities will focus on the training of coaches and youth workers in sign language (both national and international), as well as the implementation of training sessions and matches with both hearing and deaf / hard of hearing youngsters. Specific objectives: O1: Equip 20 football coaches and youth workers, 5 from each community, with the skills necessary to effectively include deaf and hard-of-hearing youth in football training sessions. O2: Create an accessible digital toolkit that provides resources and guidelines for implementing deaf-friendly football training sessions and matches, that will be used during the 20 local workshops per community, 80 in total throughout the consortium. O3: Engage at least 15 deaf and hard-of-hearing youth per community, 60 in total, in regular, reoccurring, structured football training sessions and matches over the 5 month period of the workshop phase of the project. |
