Sinova Global silicon refinery

Sinova Global is planning to construct a silicon refinery on a 130-acre site at Lake County Industrial Park in Tiptonville. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel; purchase and installation of raw material storage and handling, conveyors, hoppers, overhead cranes, an electric arc furnace, feeders, screens, baghouses and heat recovery equipment; and purchase of forklift trucks. CV Engineering has been selected to provide construction management services for the project and is expected to issue bid packages in the second quarter of 2022. Sinova will use the plant to produce metallurgical-grade silicon for industrial consumers to manufacture silicon anode batteries, solar cells, semiconductors and aluminum.
