Description | Runway repairs at Sioux Gateway Airport aimed at keeping the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City are on track. The U.S. House appropriations committee approved $38.5 million for critical infrastructure updates to improve the strength and length of the runway used by KC-135 tankers. The total cost for needed upgrades at the airport totals more than $220 million. The funds are included in the fiscal 2027 military construction, Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act and still need to go through the House and Senate before becoming available. |
