S·IRÈNE·S is a 2D animated 10x22' series targeting a young-adult audience (15-30), created and written by Iris de Jessey and Thomas Colineau, directed by Samuel de Ceccatty, with graphic design by Ana Tortos. Irène, a mermaid princess, escapes from the castle, her overbearing family, and mother’s royal reality TV show. She decides to infiltrate the kingdom’s university incognito so that she can finally have a “normal” teenage life. Desperate to maintain her anonymity and forget about her insecurities, she finally realizes that embracing her true self is the only path forward. S·IRÈNE·S is a coming-of-age comedy which follows the adventures of Irène and her eccentric entourage – Ariel and Anemone. The series blends teen drama with sitcom humor, and dives deep into contemporary young adult identity issues in a postmodern, hyperconnected world. Unveiled at Cartoon Forum 2023, and Annecy Festival’s France Télévisions’ press conference in 2024, S·IRÈNE·S has already aroused much interest and proven its potential to cross borders by addressing subjects such as teenage social life and identity development. The themes are both contemporary (gender, ecology, social media, reality TV) and universal (mother-daughter relationships, friendship, love.) S·IRÈNE·S is a Pan-European co-production of French initiative, produced by SILEX FILMS, in coproduction with BIDIBUL (LUX) and TAKE FIVE (BE), distributed by MIAM. The animation work will take place in the 3 European co-producing countries. Delivery is planned for January 2027. A rich diversity of European broadcasters have already come on board through coproduction or presales, comforting us in our distribution strategy and intention to reach a wide audience. After the success of THE MINIWHATS (preschool 4-8) and BRAZEN (family 9+), both series produced with the support of Europe Creative Media TV & Online content, S·IRÈNE·S pushes forward the industry offer in Europe as the first Frenchstyle adult satirical animated series.
