Sisson Mine Project

The Sisson Mine project is a proposed mining development in New Brunswick that aims to extract tungsten and molybdenum, critical minerals used for energy storage, production, and military applications. The project has obtained federal and provincial environmental approvals and is being considered for inclusion in a national projects list to receive accelerated regulatory approvals, federal funding, and other support. The mine is expected to operate for about 27 years, with an estimated cost of $579 million, employing 500 people during construction and 300 during operations. The project involves Indigenous partnerships and has an accommodation agreement with six First Nations.
