Description

Description

The current single pad arena facility was built in 1974 and has reached the end of its life-cycle and will be demolished. A brand-new facility will be built that will exceed the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) for accessibility requirements. The facility Is designed to be more inclusive. It will also allow residents and visitors to participate in and enjoy many year-round activities. This facility provides services to the general public and may include participants of Indigenous heritage. This new community centre will feature a revitalized park which includes a baseball diamond, natural playground, arena, program rooms and an indoor walking track. These amenities are vital for keeping the community active, healthy and will contribute to building a strong neighbourhood and positive community connections. This will be a low carbon operating facility which aligns with the City’s goal of being a net carbon operation by 2040.
