The project reflects the Indyca's strategy which aims to differentiate contents in order to give each film productive possibilities and improve the management of the implementation times. The project is complex and ambitious and reflect our willingness of entering the realm of fictional production, without abandoning the well established documentary production. Its productive sustainability is guaranteed by a timely schedule and by collaborations with trusted co-producers. The diversity of projects allows us to vary the financial plans, avoiding an overlap in financing requests and counterparts. The presented pack is composed by two documentaries, two fiction films and one short. One TV documentary, DON'T COME BACK, already in co-production with Spain and France, the creative documentary and debut HONEYDEW, both tell international stories, bound in different ways to the theme of freedom. The former tells the story of Ghadeer, an Iraqi journalist, who decides to come back from Belgium to Mosul, and participate in its social reconstruction, starting a radio station that sends messages of peace and unity. The latter, set in a small community in California, started in the 70s with the objective of self-governance through Marijuana cultivation, explores the theme of freedom through the relationship between two generations. The fiction films, ANGIOLINA AND THE CAPTAIN and BRIANZA, are bound to Italian history and culture, but retain universal aspects: Angiolina e il Capitano tells the story of Emilio Salgari, through the eyes of a young girl, Angiolina, that thanks to Salgari escapes the ordinary life women were forced to during those years. Brianza inspired by real events, explore with an ironic tone the neurosis and frustrations of contemporary provincial society in Italy thats often ignored by cinema. The short film BIRDWATCHING explores complex human feelings telling the story of a daughter who reconnects with her mother by observing her through a binoculars.
