LUKIMEDIA’s proposal application contains three documentary projects that form the backbone of our strategic growth plan to consolidate the company within the European ecosystem of documentary production. We are expanding our partnerships and co-productions to increase our production volume, formats and budget and a striking online strategy to reach the most international audiences. All projects have at least one other European co-producer on board, as well as a national and international distributor. CRUSADE AND CROSS (CC), a first feature documentary by Goya-nominated Manuel Rodriguez, will strengthen our presence at festivals while increasing our importance in the Spanish market. The story of the “Catalan Unabomber”, anarchist José Miguel Iglesias, is a unique access story employing an unusual visual approach that combines various narrative genres. A co-production with Italy and Albania, distributed by Phoenix in Spain and internationally by TVCO (IT). The personal tale MEMORIES LOST AND FOUND (MLF) is a female approach to apartheid for its 30th anniversary in 2024 in a Spanish-Colombian-Belgian coproduction (90’/52’) for La Lucarne ARTE and other European channels with a Czech international distributor and a Colombian theatrical distributor attached. Our most ambitious project, the series MOTHER DOUGH (MM) is a multi-format co-production with Argentina, France and Italy (4x45’/52’, 90’) and a digital cross media hub. International Sales will be handled by a German outfit. It uses the subject of bread to recount the evolution of gender struggles through the relationship between women, food and patriarchy, from nomadism to the Industrial Revolution to today’s eco-feminism in order to reconquer Mother Earth. The project has already received many prizes at international pitching forums as well as grants from ICEC and Ibermedia.
