"From the very moment of Caballo Films' foundation, our primary objective has always been the same: ""to bet on relevant stories that make us reflect on issues that define us as a society"". It has not been an easy journey but fortunately it has borne fruit at a critical, public and business level, allowing us to face a strategic turning point. We firmly believe that the present and future process for our company must be to own as much as possible of projects IPs in order to be as independent as possible from the majors and big platforms which will allow us to continue creating a differentiated content, telling compelling stories. Specifically, the three projects of the slate, 2 series and a feature film, follow this philosophy and are crucial for us to achieve the objective of independence and positioning in the market: Series “La Guerra” (The war) A high-end drama delivering a new vision of the Spanish Civil War. Cocreated by Goya winning scriptwriter Isabel Peña and Rodrigo Sorogoyen, who will be the director as well, and with a disruptive proposal for a series with a full theatrical release in France and two episodes in Spain. Series“El Proxeneta” (The Pimp) Based in a bestselling non-fiction book it is In-depth story about the 90s sex traffic hoax in Spain that slaved hundreds of Latin-American women and changed prostitution system forever. Created by Eduardo Villanueva and Isabel Peña, all episodes to be directed by women led by Goya winning director Pilar Palomero. Feature film “El final de la historia” (The end of History) A thriller with hints of surrealism and horror involving 90s Spain and Argentina and based in the corrupt privatization of an oil company. Second film for emerging directing talent Pero Martín-Calero, script by Francisco Kosterlitz with the director. Finally, this will be possible thanks to the great team of excellent professionals, 14 people (between Caballo Films staff and collaborators), full of enthusiasm and motivation."
