Small and strong together in the gardens of friendship!

The children’s house in the market town of Mähring in the district of Tirscheneruth has been cooperating with the KIndergarten MŠ Vora in Marienbad for many years. Joint meetings, projects and events have allowed these two institutions to grow strongly together. This project aims to consolidate the partnership and provide a basis for pre-school language education through lived language. Around the construction of two themed gardens in Marienbad and Großkonreuth (Mähring) we want to get to know, understand and speak the language of our neighbours with fun and playful elements. Not only should our kindergarten children practice the language, the language education should also involve the staff of the kindergartens and also the parents. We want to make language education sustainable with many multipliers from the ground up. Thus, even after the project period, the acquired language skills will be passed on to the next children’s groups. Subsequent schools can build on these acquired language skills. Thus, for example, learning Czech in primary schools becomes more attractive. Joint meetings, action days, trips and celebrations are regularly organised and organised during the project period. This is where we build on long-standing friendship. An important part of the project will be the two themed gardens. While the children and carers have been fostering a good neighbourly relationship for many years, only occasionally interested parents take part in the meetings. Our experience shows that we can reach our parents if they can actively support us in projects. They are always happy to be involved in work assignments in house and garden. Since gardens always require care, they offer an ideal place where adults can meet at work, get to know each other and break down prejudices. In Marienbad, a “Garden of Understanding” is to be created. In Moravia, we want to build a garden of friendship. These two gardens, together with the children, will be planned and implemented in a bilingual manner. Participation is also an important educational goal in kindergarten in the Bavarian Education Plan. The added value for the programme area is clear: Language education at preschool age is the basis for the reduction of the language barrier.
