Description
Description | The topic of the project Small feet- big steps (STEPS) is promoting education in and through sport by supporting skills development of coaches from various sports. The project targets coaches/trainers from various sports and supports their skills development in a variety of approaches and activities for increasing fine motor abilities of children in their clubs in order to enhance children's development, therefore addressing the topic itself. The project is rooted in the belief that motor skill development during childhood is a cornerstone of lifelong physical, social, and psychological health. Research highlights that children aged 6-12 are in a critical phase for acquiring fundamental movement skills (FMS). However, many coaches lack the training to implement effective and inclusive methodologies to nurture these skills, leaving a gap that the STEPS project aims to address. By equipping coaches with innovative tools and training methods, this project ensures a broader developmental impact on children while addressing inclusion, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability. The general objective of Small feet- big steps (STEPS) project is increasing capacity of coaches/trainers from various sports from project partner countries on basic motoric skills training methodology (Fundamental Movement Skills). |
