Description | The First Small Scale Industry Project will further the development of small scale industry in Kenya. It will, over a five-year period, support the reorganization and strengthening necessary to establish KIE, a semi-autonomous Government-supported industrial promotion agency, as the principal financial intermediary and promoter for small scale industries in the country, provide for the construction of support facilities for modern small scale industries and rural urban workshops, and provide credit through KIE to assist these enterprises in establishing themselves successfully. Training and technical assistance is also included. |
