Description | The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has partnered with Powergas Nigeria Ltd to fund a feasibility study for the construction of a cutting-edge, small-scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in southern Nigeria. The project aims to address Nigeria's domestic gas distribution bottlenecks by bypassing large export terminals in favor of agile processing facilities that compress raw natural gas and transport it via cryogenic trucks to off-grid industrial parks, commercial estates, and residential mini-grids disconnected from the national electricity grid. The feasibility study will evaluate the project's technical architecture, environmental impact, and economic viability, with the potential for subsequent construction involving specialized U.S. gas processing equipment. |
