Description
Description | TRAMES is based on the Phoenicians’ Routes, Route recognized since 2003 in the Council of Europe Programme « Cultural Route » and since 2016 thematic route of interest of the UN World Tourism Organization. It promotes the cultural and archaeological heritage of Mediterranean civilizations following the ancient nautical and maritime routes and offers considerable potential for promotion, visibility and development of related tourism products. TRAMES’s transnational thematic products are direct outputs of the Route’s innovation strategy on: a) Creativity and Creative Tourism – valuing the experiential, emotional and sensorial element: tourism experience is not passive but allows visitors to develop their creative potential through educational activities and experiences; b) Heritage Pedagogy -developing new creative narrative (storytelling and storydoing, heritage interpretation), focusing on memory and identity to promote the direct involvement of users; c) Creation of innovative edutainment technologies as tools to engage tourists and promote tangible and intangible heritage, where both the tourist and the community take active part in shaping and creating the tourist experience; d) Gamification as a way to attract, engage and educate visitors on cultural heritage, give destinations a global visibility, encourage users to interact with the places and their cultural and natural heritage; e) Internationalization identifying most active local stakeholders to promote the tourist offer within the International Network of the Phoenicians’ Route; f) Deseasonalisation - allowing to shift from destination tourism to motivation tourism not linked to seasonality; g) Sustainability and involvement of local communities (community tourism) with positive effects on employment at local level, by developing new professional skills and renforce SMEs. Furthermore, the project strengthens the intercultural mediterranean dialogue recreating a Mediterranean community (koiné). |
