The Smartheath Project brings together 4 organisations, South East HealthTechnologies Alliance (SEHTA) as Lead Partner and EPM in the UK, Eurasanté and Amiens cluster in France with the aim to support the development of new products and services in the field of E-Health at the time of Brexit. The prime deliverable will be the creation and testing of an innovative, cross-border SMEs support model to stimulate Franco-British cooperation between the local Health and care providers with shared clinicaland care needs, and local SMEs providing digital solutions.   The related INTERREG programme indicator will be: 1 Number of innovative products, processes, services, or systems conceived and produced. Health is one of the ’smart specialisation’ field of the Channel programme and digital is one of the ’key enabling technologies’. This project will also answer some of the uncertainties around Brexit as early signs indicates a potential impact on trade between France and the UK. SmartHealth will contribute to inform stakeholders on health regulatory affairs at the time of negotiations and make an appreciable contribution to re-strengthening and ensuring the continuity of trade relationship across the Channel. The new innovative SMEs support and accompanying model will be tested on collaborative projects between hospitals and digital health SMEs selected. From 40 SMEs involved, the most promising collaborative projects will be selected through an international award process to work with 6 hospitals from the chosen geographic area ( 3 in the UK and 3 in France). These hospitals have submitted letters of support. The awarded support programme will comprise of of a series of 10 common transnational and bespoke support modules available delivered by the cross-boder Smarthealth Team. The innovative and cross-border added value are both in the design and implementation: - joint design and implementation of an innovation support programme in 10 modules in the field of SMEs accompanyment in the specialist field of E-health and Care - definition of an inovative methodology of support intervention tailored to the French and UK market - joint editions and publications of Health Regulatory Affairs affecting SMEs in the context of Brexit - running International Business Awards, selecting 6 solutions/projects concepts with the most innovative and best transnational market opportunities - international monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the supported projects Not one single partner has the unique knowledge, nor the connections in place to tackle these challenges on their own. It is a genuine mutualisation of resources at a critical time with the ambition to attract other funding once relationship are in place and concept validated.
