For people living in “Bidasoa-Sud Pays Basque” cross-border territory, SMARTMOB wants to study, design, develop and integrate intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions in a logic of open innovation making the user actor of solutions of tomorrow. In this near area, SMARTMOB wants to provide solutions to understand the movements of cross-border citizens, propose them solutions and act for a more virtuous mobility. According to "Transfermuga" study carried out by Eurorégion Aquitaine-Euskadi, the knowledge of cross-border mobility offer by the public is very low. In addition of undeniable environmental impact, the lack of information encourages car use which is a source of road congestion and makes travelers' travel uncomfortable or insecure. SMARTMOB will work for the realization of travel plans on targeted sites and will generate a Cross-border Strategic Approach for sustainable cross-border mobility in this territory. With this expertise and existing studies in this field, SMARTMOB will invest in the deployment of concrete actions responding to the needs of cross-border citizens (workers, inhabitants, tourists ...). Working on the cross-border mobility it is ignored administrative boundaries of our municipalities to move towards a sustainable cross-border transport policy.
