The promotional loan to BOAD aims at the sustainable refinancing of MSMEs through local commercial banks in the member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). The funds received through the promotional loan are passed on by BOAD to local commercial banks, which then provide them to suitable MSMEs in the form of loans. The aim of the project is to expand needs-based financial services for MSMEs in the UEMOA region. This can increase the competitiveness of MSMEs and generate positive employment effects and additional income. In this way, the project improves the social and economic situation and contributes to the sustainable reduction of poverty in the region.
