Description
Description | As part of this grant proposal Statistics Netherlands intends to carry out six separate project: - Project 1: 'Implementation forest accounts and forest ecosystem services in the Netherlands' intends to improve forest accounts by tackling issues relating to the interpretation of concepts, data quality and data gaps. - Project 2: 'Potentially environmentally damaging subsidies and effective carbon rates for the Netherlands' wants to investigate data sources and produce preliminary estimates of PEDS en ECR in the Netherlands. - Project 3: 'Calculating early estimates for environmental footprints' aims to calculate provisional footprints using the simplified SNAC approach and the FIGARO MRIO as database. - Project 4: 'Reconciliation of waste generation and waste treatment' wishes to study reconciliation of the aforementioned statistics in order to link waste generation and the re-use of secondary materials. To support the reconciliation an in-depth case study on sludge is proposed. - Project 5: 'Streamlining and improving the classification of the Dutch Ecosystem Extent Map and Account' resolves to adjust the ecosystem map to align with level 1 topology and add more detailed ecosystems to specific level 1 categories. - Project 6: 'Structural analysis ecosystem accounting' desires to investigate and quantify how ecosystem services are directly and indirectly (throughout the value chain) used by all different beneficiaries, using structural economic analyses (IO tables). |
