The objectives of the Project include: (i) expansion of high-quality public transportation for approximately one million users per day representing substantial time, quality of life, and cost enhancements; (ii) increase in overall interconnectivity of public transportation in São Paulo due to the integration of Line 4 with other bus and metro lines; (iii) increase in public transportation safety as users will opt for the metro rather than urban road traffic; (iv) enhancement of economic activities in the areas surrounding the new metro stations; (v) reduction in overall vehicle emission levels with the resulting improvements in air quality; and, (vi) reduction in noise and vibration levels associated with road traffic.
