Description | Anaergia's SoCal Biomethane plant located at the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA) will feed renewable biomethane into the California gas distribution network. The plant co-digests organic waste and municipal wastewater to produce biogas, which is refined into biomethane and supplied to the gas grid. It can process up to 104,000 tonnes per year of organic waste diverted from landfills and aims to reduce emissions significantly. The project is part of California's biomethane procurement programme under Senate Bill 1440, requiring utilities to procure biomethane from diverted organic waste. |
