Description
Description | The Module aims to enhance understanding of European values among psychology students in Ukraine, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict with Russia. It encompasses three academic courses, a summer school, and an All-Ukrainian conference with international participation, all focused on European integration and its implications for Ukraine. The curriculum combines traditional lectures with participatory research methodologies, including focus groups that engage diverse stakeholders—such as public officials, educators, and marginalized communities—to explore Ukraine’s EU membership responsibilities and foster self-awareness as EU citizens. This participatory approach aligns with contemporary qualitative research principles, emphasizing transformative experiences and empowering participants to contribute to societal change. The Module’s design promotes dialogue among students, academics, and vulnerable populations, facilitating better understanding of European values in real-world contexts.. To enhance learning outcomes, the project includes a COIL course in collaboration with a European university, fostering transnational partnerships and shared insights on European values. At the end of each academic year, students will produce creative responses—such as performances or citizenship acts—reflecting their engagement with the material. 4 papers in peer-reviewed journals will be published to share the results of the Module. The module targets psychology students who traditionally stay aside from EU studies, aiming to equip them with essential knowledge and soft skills for their future careers. Evaluation will be conducted through regular feedback, monitoring of participation, and assessment of student projects. Ultimately, the Module seeks to bridge gaps in understanding and promote active citizenship among future helping professionals in Ukraine’s evolving European landscape. |
