Social Entrepreneurship, Empowerment and Cohesion in Refugee and Host Communities in Türkiye Project

The development objective of the Social Entrepreneurship, Empowerment, and Cohesion in Refugee and Host Communities in Turkey Project for Turkey is to improve livelihoods opportunities for women in refugee and host communities in targeted areas of Turkey. The project comprises of three components. The first component, social entrepreneurship for women and youth in refugee and host communities will directly benefit those receiving startup support services, subgrants, and employment in social enterprises; indirect beneficiaries are the buyers of goods and users of services provided by the social enterprises. It consists of following sub-components: (i) support services for social entrepreneurship incubation and acceleration; and (ii) subgrants for social enterprise incubation and acceleration. The second component is community livelihoods-related facilities in refugee and host communities. It consists of following sub-components: (i) mobilization and capacity building for livelihoods-related facilities for women; and (ii) subgrants for community livelihoods-related facilities. The third component, institutional capacity strengthening and project management will finance project management, monitoring and evaluation (M and E), and communications (and visibility) as well as the targeted capacity building of national (Ministry of Industry and Technology (MoIT), Turkish Development Agency (TDAs)) and local actors (local authorities, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), other stakeholders) to strengthen their capabilities to support women’s livelihoods development in this project and in the future. It consists of following sub-components: (i) support for strengthening institutional capacity; (ii) project management, coordination, and communications; and (iii) M and E.
