Description
Description | Social Platform is the largest network of civil society organisations in the EU advocating for social justice. It is driven by a membership of 45 European federations, represented across the 27 EU Member States, and united in the fight for social justice, equality between all people, inclusion, sustainability and participatory democracy in the EU and beyond. As a pan-European network of networks, Social Platform is a unique organisation of citizens and people living in Europe which reaches out to all Members States and brings added value and the diversity of lived experiences to civil dialogue with the EU Institutions. We amplify the voices of the disenfranchised, service providers and social enterprises and bridge the divide between policy-making and what citizens and people in Europe say they want – a social Europe. Through this FPA, we will contribute to the CERV programme by fighting for fundamental rights for all, promoting the core values of the EU, fostering active citizenship, empowering citizens and people to participate in European democracy and the rule of law. In short, through this grant we will make a more social Europe for all and with all. Our objectives include: 1. Making fundamental rights a reality to ensure (gender) equality and dignity for all people and citizens. 2. Ensuring that citizens’ rights and needs are at the heart of the EU budget and socio-economic governance. 3. A reinforced democratic system where representative democracy is underpinned by social and civil dialogue. 4. Building the capacity of representative organisations of citizens and people. To achieve our objectives: -We take an intersectional approach -We campaign, influence and advocate -We use our Platform -We reach out to citizens and people and inform them about their rights -We build coalitions, allies and champions for a more social Europe -We build the capacity of our members -We mainstream gender, non-discrimination and civil dialogue |
