Description

Description

The SPUR project aims to connect 6 Local Authorities in 5 different Member States in a network of towns designated to work together on the issues of civic participation and tackling inequalities that affect their respective suburbs reflecting on mid and long-term effects of the pandemic within. The project consists of a combination of several international events and local paths. The international events will align the partners and serve them to build the actions in the local paths, which will be implemented in all local territories. The alternation between international events and local paths will help each partner to create adapted and feasible pilot actions for their community, while also building a network on a European level. In this way, tailored local initiatives shall be implemented and their results will be presented at a final international event which is also the starting point for a potential future collaboration and/or local projects to be continued or launched afterward. Between 720 and 800 direct participants are expected to be involved through pilot actions. Each local path in single countries will involve at least 46 people belonging to the target group, equally distributed by gender. In addition, the direct beneficiaries of the international events are supposed to count between 280 and 350 persons, thus reaching a total of 1000-1200 persons. The project intends to reach the following results: - positive practices about social resilience of local communities in times of crisis are shared, improved, and possibly replicated - social inclusion of disadvantaged youths and elderly in urban peripheries is facilitated - local communities grow stronger and more inclusive thanks to a common vision and active cooperation between the local authorities and the civil society - a European network is built/reinforced around the topic of solidarity in times of crisis
