The proposed Social Protection Enhancement Project Phase 2 (SPEP2) builds on the World Bank's longstanding engagement with the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) to strengthen services to poor and vulnerable people through an adaptive social protection system. The SPEP2 comes at a critical time to support the the National Program for Development and Reform (NPDR 2024-2026) Social Protection Inclusivity Initiative. The project will strengthen the foundations established through the national Social Registry and Case Management System to respond to growing poverty and address the impacts of conflict, fragility, and climate change. SPEP2 will focus on expanding identification of potential beneficiaries for social protection programs and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery to better support the needs of poor and vulnerable populations, particularly in times of crisis, and enhancing the institutional capacity of the MoSD.
