Description | Ghana is in a deep national debt and macroeconomic crisis. The drastic devaluation of the Ghanaian cedi in the course of 2022 caused food prices to rise even further. The FC module is part of the EZ Governance program, which aims to achieve democratic, inclusive and sustainable development in Ghana by promoting efficient public institutions. Policy-based SDG financing is intended to support the Ghanaian government in its reform efforts to provide social security for the poor and to promote gender equality. The module is being implemented as parallel financing with a Development Policy Financing from the World Bank, which is to be implemented over a period of three years (2023 - 2025). The German contribution of EUR 15 million is to be paid into Ghana's budget after the implementation of defined reform steps. |
