Sociedad Nacional de Procesamiento de Datos, S.A. (SONDA or the company) is one of the largest independent IT services providers in Latin America. Founded in 1974 in Santiago, Chile, SONDA is a one-stop shop for IT services and products. The company offers hardware and software product sales, systems integration, financial and administrative solutions (such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), payroll solutions, core banking systems), training services, and a variety of outsourcing services. With over 3,700 employees, SONDA provides IT products and services to eleven Latin American countries. SONDA’s near-term growth strategy consists of consolidating its expansion in the region. To this effect the company bought an IT services provider in Brazil, in November 2002. SONDA also acquired a Mexican IT firm Pissa in February 2004. To consolidate these acquisitions and develop its business throughout the other countries in the region, the company expects an investment program of over $40 million over the next two years.
