Description | The Soda Mountain Solar Project is a 300 MW utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) facility with a 300 MW battery energy storage system (BESS), a substation, a 500 kV generation-intertie line, a utility switchyard, and 500 kV transmission loop-in lines. The project is located on approximately 2,670 acres of BLM-administered land in San Bernardino County, California. The project layout includes a bighorn sheep buffer and a relocated BESS to mitigate impacts on desert bighorn sheep. The California Energy Commission has certified the project for construction and operation. |
