Soft Sleep Cap for Brain Health Research

under development

Researchers at Rice University and Houston Methodist are developing a soft, lightweight, textile-based sleep cap designed to track and stimulate the brain's cleaning cycles during deep sleep. The cap aims to protect the brain against dementia and other neurological diseases by improving natural mechanisms that clear toxic proteins linked to Alzheimer's disease and neurodegeneration. The project also explores measuring neuroinflammation and stimulating brain plasticity for broader neurological treatments.
