Soil Digest is a microbial product developed by a Thai scientist using five strains of Bacillus bacteria to decompose post-harvest rice stubble quickly, improving soil softness, increasing yields, and reducing fertilizer costs. The solution aims to replace the traditional practice of burning crop residue, which contributes to toxic smog in Thailand. The product decomposes rice straw in 5 to 7 days compared to the usual 30 days, and early trials show yield increases of up to 20%. It also helps reduce methane emissions from paddy fields by at least 20%, supporting Thailand's climate commitments.
