Description | Solarco Company Limited developed three solar photovoltaic (PV) plants with a total generating capacity of 57 MW at three sites in the Thai provinces of Nakhonpathom and Suphanburi under the country’s “very small power producer” program. The power from all three solar projects is sold to state owned Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) at premium power sales tariff. Solarco has entered into a 5-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with PEA and the company is allowed to renew PPAs every 5 years throughout 25 years of operation. Solarco Company Limited is a special-purpose company that is a joint venture of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO) and Yanhee Solar Power Company Limited (51%). In April 2013, Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved an USD 87 million concessional debt to Solarco – USD 52 million as direct loan and the remaining USD 35 million of debt from the ADB Clean Technology Fund. https://www.adb.org/projects/46934-014/main#project-pds |
