Description
Description | The SPACE (Solidarity, Participation, Access, Community, Equality in Neighbourhoods) project seeks to strengthen social integration and community development in European cities through citizen participation, focusing on ethnic and racial diversity in European neighbourhoods. Its main objective is to improve coexistence in diverse neighbourhoods through collaborative processes, co-creation methodologies and conflict prevention strategies. The target groups are young people, women, political decision-makers and migrant associations. To this end, work is being carried out along four strategic lines: participatory community development, mutual learning in conflict prevention, social impact and communication. The project involves the participation of five cities in five member states (Palencia- Spain, Oulu- Finland, Graz- Austria, Botosani County- Romania and Milan- Italy), the Spanish Observatory on Racism and Xenophobia (OBERAXE) of the Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, the European Training and Research Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (ETC Graz- Austria) and Cidalia Social Consultancy on Diversity (SP), guaranteeing its replicability in other contexts. The actions include intergenerational dialogue round tables, training for community agents, youth exchanges to promote intercultural understanding and events with political and social authorities. Key issues such as the prevention of gender violence and the fight against discrimination and racism are also addressed. Through events, webinars and local activities, the project seeks to generate a lasting social impact, promoting inclusion and respect for diversity in the participating communities. |
