Description
Description | The SGG project will have a fundamental role to play in shaping, inspiring and bringing a new strategic solidarity to the European hockey family of 5 million participants Amongst those, are the once thriving communities of Turkish and Ukrainian Hockey which this project will support to rebuild. Solidarity amongst nations can be seized with great sports administration if strategic resources can be delivered to benefit national associations of all sizes. When sport is well governed and strategic it impacts positively on everyday lives of the millions of people who have seen their communities and way of life changed by the horrors of the war in Ukraine, the catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and the uncertainty we all experienced and continue to recover from during the global covid pandemic. Using hockey as inspiration and motivation offers the chance to reshape peoples’ lives and outlook and bring solidarity across communities, SGG prioritises the inclusion and diversity of all established, developing, and emerging nations that are members of EuroHockey. SGG will create more fluid European strategic models for growth. Typically, EuroHockey has highlighted English, French, Dutch, German and Belgium national associations as exemplar and aspirational organisations, yet they also work in singularity. SGG will enable all national associations across different cultures, geography, fiscal strengths and resource capacity to access strategic expertise for their own opportunity to increase solidarity and strategic intent, making hockey more efficient by sharing knowledge with each other and offering joint challenges and developing shared solutions. The SGG project will involve the following 12 partners over the 24-month term of the project, coordinated by EuroHockey. |
