Description

Description

This project proposes to reconfigure the five-legged intersection of East Solomon Street, Searcy Avenue, and Spalding Street at the Norfolk Southern railroad by extending East Solomon Street from the west side of Norfolk Southern railroad to a realigned East Solomon Street on the east side of the railroad. Spalding Street would be separated from East Solomon Street at its current location and a hammer-head turnaround would be constructed on the end of Spalding Street. A new two-lane roadway would be constructed that would connect Spalding Street to East Solomon Street to form a four-legged intersection at Jackson Lane. A left-turn lane would be provided on East Solomon Street to turn left onto Searcy Avenue. The one-way northbound North Searcy Avenue would no longer be connected to East Solomon Street and would end at a commercial driveway north of the relocated East Solomon Street
