Somalia – Statistics Development Support Project for Somalia

Statistics Development Support Project for Somalia is financed by African Development Fund, ADF 15 - PBA for UA 3.0 million. This is a capacity development project for statistics that will help to enhance the quality and quantity of statistics in the country, to improve evidence-based decision-making and policy dialogue, in line with nationally determined priorities. The expected outputs of the project will be: (i) trained staff in collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical data as well as coordination and advocacy products; (ii) manuals and guidelines compliant with international statistical concepts, methods and classifications produced; (iii) functional and equipped ICT Statistics Departments for Federal Member States (FMS); (iv) Databases, Data portal and better quality statistical publications for Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and FMS, and functional national coordination committee and Technical Working Groups (TWGs) for the national statistical system. The implementation schedule runs from 2022 to 2024. The project primely contributes towards climate adaptation result. As such 33% of the total approval is attributed as climate finance, out of which 1 million is adaptation finance.
