Sondrio and Sindelfingen: KNOwledge and capaciTy for community recovery

The KNOT project aims at building a knowledge community made of high school students from both Sondrio and Sindelfingen. The town twinning has seen over the last 60 years many exchanges between not only official delegations but also between cultural and sports organizations as well as students. However, in the spirit of greater cooperation between European nations and with the aim of encouraging exchanges between young citizens, this project aims at structuring a long-term vocational training model that will give students the opportunity to acquire skills in both EU policies and orientations towards growth opportunities, mainly related to tourism in post-pandemic era and energy crisis recovery. The idea is to lay the foundations to create a network of school referents from the two twinned towns that are willing to create a dedicated training programme for their students. This will include knowledge and training programmes through a series of workshops (3 in total, 1 each week) as an occasion for young generations to discuss major common issues such climate change and the impacts of the pandemic and the energy crisis, to be concluded in a public event open to general public, to be held both in Sondrio and in Sindelfingen, in order to present the main outcomes of the experience.
