Economic/Social Impact of the Project It is a brownfield Project. Mining started from pre nationalization period i..e 1974. Sonepur Bazari Expansion OC 12.0 MTY is the expansion of Sonepur Bazari Combined OC 8.0 MTY working mine. Project Report for Sonepur Bazari Combined OCP 8 MTY was approved by CIL Board in August 2012 with Partial Outsourcing mode. The coal production target of 8.00 Mty achieved in in 2016-17. CIL Board in 427th meeting held on 28.07.2021 accorded its approval of PR for Sonepur Bazari Expansion OC 12.0 MTY in partial outsourcing mode with an additional capital investment of Rs 5365.88 crores. EC: EC obtained on 3-03-2016 for 12 MTY. , EC amended from 12.00 Mty to 14.00 Mty on 31.07.2023 for a period of 1 year. FC : Stage II granted on 28.03.2017 . Target for FY 22-23 is 11.00 MT, Achievement for FY 22-23 is 11.99 MT. Target for FY 23-24 is 11.00 MT, Achievement for FY 23-24 till Feb-24 is 10.753 MT
