Sony Honda Mobility Afeela EV Project Cancellation

cancelled

Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between Sony and Honda, has scrapped the Afeela electric vehicle project after four years of development. The project included two electric vehicles, the Afeela 1 sedan and Afeela 2 SUV, both priced around $100,000. The cancellation follows Honda's reassessment of its electrification strategy and scaling back of its electric vehicle plans, leading to a significant financial write-down. Sony Honda Mobility will issue full refunds to customers who placed early deposits for the Afeela 1. The joint venture will continue discussions on its future direction.
