South Bow Pipeline

The South Bow Pipeline is a proposed project led by Canadian company South Bow to increase Canada's crude oil exports to the U.S. by more than 12%. It involves reviving parts of the former Keystone XL pipeline route with a different path through the U.S., using some of the previously built pipe in Alberta. The project offers 450,000 barrels per day of contracted pipeline capacity from Hardisty, Alberta to multiple U.S. delivery points including Cushing, Oklahoma, and the U.S. Gulf Coast. It aims to be built faster and more cheaply than a new West Coast pipeline and could provide political leverage in trade negotiations with the U.S.
