Description | Iran's Power Development Company (IPDC) was created by the state-owned utility Iran Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution Management Company (Tavanir) to carry out the process of building new power plants, with a special mandate to lead a private power programme. In 20002, state-owned Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (Mapna) and Germany's IFIC Holding A.G. (IHAG) signed a memorandum of understanding with the IPDC to build the South Isfahan independent power plant. South Isfahan was to be developed on a 20-year, build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The plant was to have a generating capacity of 954 MW and was to require investment of 320 million euro (US$380 million). Financial close was achieved in 2004 though Bank Saderat Iran. By end 2004, the plant, Iran's first BOT project, was more than 50 percent complete. Very little info on this project. None |
