South Korea Nuclear-Powered Attack Submarine Project

planned

South Korea plans to develop and construct a new class of nuclear-powered attack submarines entirely within the country to counter North Korea's growing missile submarine threat. The project aims to have the first nuclear attack boat in the water by the mid-2030s and achieve operational status by the end of the decade. The submarines will have enhanced operational capabilities, including extended submerged endurance and superior mobility, and will be equipped with precision strike missiles to support South Korea's counterstrike plans.
