City Project No. 83520 This project improved and increased the size of 3700 linear feet of a 1906 water main. This project also constructed 1000 linear feet of upsized 12 inch and 10 inch sewer main improvements. The new sewer mains will reduce sewer overflows, minimize sewage stoppages and reduce water infiltration into the system. The community will see improved water quality, fire flow and water pressure. Scope : This was the first phase of a three-phase project in subdivision along southern end of Rollins Road. The work consisted of installing new water mains and new sanitary sewer mains in the City of Burlingame. Water main improvements consisted of approximately 3,840 linear feet of new 8-inch, 443 linear feet of new 6-inch, and 103 linear feet of new 4-inch Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Ductile Iron water main on South Rollins Road between Corbitt Drive and Humboldt Road. The existing 4-inch and 6-inch water mains were abandoned in place. The construction method was anticipated to be conventional open trench and the water main was installed at three to five feet depth of cover. The sanitary sewer work consisted of approximately 660 linear feet of new 12-inch, 250 linear feet of new 10-inch, 100 linear feet of new 6-inch, and 390 linear feet of new 4-inch Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC SDR26) sewer mains along with 4 new manholes on South Rollins Road between the lift station at 399 Rollins Road and Humboldt Road. The existing 12-inch and 10-inch sewer mains were removed to install the increased size mains.
