Description

Description

The Water Supply Resilience Project for Improving Living Conditions in Juba (RWPILJ) was initiated due to the deterioration of the overall infrastructure, the long years of insufficient investment and the poor maintenance of hydraulic infrastructure in South Sudan. This project aims, in terms of development, to improve the water supply in the city of Juba in order to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the inhabitants of the capital of South Sudan. This would include more equitable access to sustainable water supplies in the project area and improved water system functionality. Once completed, it is expected to benefit some 230,000 people and people passing through Juba City. Its cost is estimated at UA 5.50 million, which will be financed by a grant of UA 4.95 million from the resources of the Pillar 1 window of the Transitional Support Facility, and the rest by the counterpart contribution from the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS). The project will be rolled out over 48 months with a closing date of 31 December 2020.
