Description | The SouthCoast Wind project is an offshore wind energy development offshore Nantucket, Massachusetts, with a construction and operations plan approved in January 2025. The project authorizes the construction of up to 141 wind turbine generators and up to five offshore platforms, with a potential to generate up to 2.4 gigawatts of renewable energy. The project is being developed by Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie. The Trump administration plans to reconsider the permit issued by the previous administration, and the Interior Department intends to request a voluntary remand of the approval by September 18, 2025. |
