The development objective of Southeast Asia Regional Program on Combating Marine Plastics (SEA-MaP) Project for South East Asia Region is to reduce plastics consumption, increase recycling and minimize leakages to prevent land and sea based marine plastic pollution in Southeast Asia. This project has three components. 1) The first component, Strengthening Regional Policies and Institutions for Plastics Circularity, has the following sub-components: (i) Supporting Regional Policy Development, Harmonization, and Implementation; and (ii) Supporting Regional Collaboration and Strengthening Monitoring Capacity. 2) The second component, Establishing Regional Platforms to Promote Innovations, Knowledge, and Partnerships for Plastics Circularity, has the following sub-components: (i) Establishing a Regional Platform for Innovation and Investments; and (ii) Establishing a Regional Platform for Knowledge and Partnerships. 3) The third component, Project Management, aims to support strengthening of the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) in terms of project management, financial management (FM), procurement, and environment and social risk management.
