Southington Linear Trail Extension Final Phase

The project involves extending the Southington Linear Trail to connect the town's trail to Plainville. The proposed route continues from Aircraft Road onto Newell Street, then west along West Queen Street, turning onto Redstone Street and continuing north toward Townline Road. The state Department of Transportation plans to install safety barriers separating bicyclists and pedestrians from vehicle traffic along portions of the route. The design also preserves the possibility of using the adjacent railway corridor in the future if it becomes available for trail use.
