Sovereign AI Defense Model Development

SK Telecom signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Korea's Ministry of National Defense to develop and demonstrate defense-specialized AI models based on the Sovereign AI Foundation Model Project. The project aims to accelerate defense AI transformation by leveraging publicly available defense data and GPU resources provided through the Ministry of Science and ICT's National AI Project. SK Telecom will lead the development using its expertise in large language models and GPU-as-a-Service infrastructure, applying lightweighting technologies to optimize AI models for defense applications.
