Space Data for Intercultural Dialogue and Diversity

SPACEDIVE aims to promote the dialogue between cultures around the Mediterranean region, fostering intercultural collaborations and promoting scientific and soft skills through the collaborative exploration of scientific databases. The project targets undergraduate students and youth associations from diverse cultural backgrounds to start a structured Virtual Exchange in Big Data analysis and science communication, bringing community awareness and promoting international cooperation. The project will improve the participants’ ability to access and analyse data, foster creative, critical thinking and communication skills through an international and intercultural work. They will also develop their science-communication skills and bring their experience to their local communities, building bridges that will enrich all locations participating in the project. Participants will engage in multi-cultural collaboration and cooperation, and reflect on their own achievements. The project will adopt an innovative and inclusive methodology where students will have differentiated pathways, based on the principles and guidelines of the Universal Design for Learning and will be accompanied by an innovative formative assessment methodology. The plaftorm where the data repository will be embedded will promote an efficient and globally available computational framework and data mining technology, where users, regardless of their computer availability, can contribute to contemporary science and ongoing research. SPACEDIVE will address the main priorities of the call by enabling the creation of an inclusive methodology, adopting digital transformative tools and frameworks, and promoting active citizenship and sustainability awareness through data analysis and science communication opportunities. It will support the development of soft skills such as teamwork, communication, collaboration and cooperation, creativity and critical thinking and above all, intercultural competencies.
