Description
Description | Spaceport Nova Scotia is Canada's first commercial orbital launch facility, under development just outside Canso, Nova Scotia. It is designed to provide domestic orbital launch capability and support regional economic development. The project includes shared infrastructure for multiple rocket operators, with planned facilities such as a rocket assembly building, payload processing clean rooms, a launch control centre, and fuel storage systems. Construction is in early stages, focusing on foundational infrastructure like a concrete slab and access roads, with completion scheduled by the end of 2027. The project is backed by a 10-year, $200-million federal lease agreement with the Department of National Defence, which will lease a dedicated launch pad at the site. |
